Vampires and sunlight


In his brief on vampiric lore, Donald Morse writes that “The reason a vampire avoids sunlight is that morning sunlight is considered to be God’s eye. If it falls on a vampire, he would burn. However, in a non-Christian version, a vampire can appear during the day.” (185)
